But sometimes you get a craving for a something that has already been perfected, and the only challenge is to re-create it. A few days ago some friends and I made a late night Chick-Fil-A run for one reason, Chocolate Chunk Cookies. I am one who tends to avoid store bought or store made cookies, but the one exception is Chick-Fil-A. They are sooo tasty and perfectly soft every time. The challenge here though is there is not a recipe for these, it is one of those coveted secret ingredient type desserts. Well I set to work to try an re-create it myself! After consulting many online CopyCat recipes and a few tweaks of my own I have come up with a cookie that is as Close to the Chick Fil A cookie anyone can get. the secret? Molasses! It gives the cookie that dark color while still obtaining a great moisture. I’m very pleased with my recreation of the beloved restaurant born cookie, now I can have it whenever I want and you can too! just follow the recipe below.

Grill Cookies – Because it’s Summer

So its summertime, and you want cookies, but you don’t want to turn on the oven and heat up the house. Last week I found myself in this exact predicament, Soultion? Fire up the grill!

I know what your thinking, you cant put raw cookie dough on the grill without it running through the racks, that’s where the pizza stone comes in. Take your cookie dough of choice ( we cheated a little and used Pillsbury already made, but from scratch works just a well) and place the about 1 1/2 in apart around the pizza stone. Set the grill to low and close the lid until it reaches around 350. Place the pizza stone directly on the racks, close the lid and let the magic happen.

After about 5min your cookies should spread out, rotate the pizza stone so the heat is distributed evenly and let them cook for another 4min. Carefully remove with a metal spatula and place on a plate, they will be very soft and need to firm up before eating. These little morsels will taste great with a glass of cold milk, or crumbled on top of ice cream . Either way they’ll be a great addition to your summer get togethers. Impress your friends by being the Grill Master who flips more than just burgers =)
